Dalamtata bahasa,predikat(serapandaribahasa Belanda:predikaat) adalah bagiankalimatyang menandai apa yang dikatakan oleh pembicara tentangsubjekdan biasanya merupakan jawaban atas pertanyaan mengapa atau bagaimana. Pada beberapabahasa,misalnya bahasa-bahasa dalamrumpun bahasa Indo-Eropa,predikat harus mengandung unsurverba.Predikat (tindakan) dapat diikuti antara lain olehobjekdanadverbia.Kata predikat berasal daribahasa Latinpraedicatumyang artinya ialah "apa yang sedang dibicarakan".
