Asgard

Asgard^[1](Bahasa Norse Kuno:Ásgarðr[ˈɑːsˌɡɑrðz̠];"bentengÆsir") adalah lokasi yang dikisahkan sebagai kediaman para dewa dalammitologi Nordik.Tempat ini banyak disebutkan dalam berbagai saga Nordik Kuno dan teks-teks mitologis.^[2]Beberapa peneliti mengidentifikasi Asgard sebagai salah satu dari Sembilan Dunia yang mengelilingi pohonYggdrasil.^[3]Mitologi Nordik menggambarkan Asgard sebagai rumah berbenteng bagi ras dewa Aesir, yang terletak dilangit.^[4]Asgard terdiri dari alam yang lebih kecil yang jarang disebutkan secara tersendiri dalam puisi dan prosa mitologis.^[5]EskatologiNordik kuno meramalkan kehancuran total Asgard selamaRagnarök,dan akan pulih setelah pembaruan dunia.^[6]
