Ceolwulf II(wafat sekitar tahun 879) adalahraja Merciaindependen terakhir].[1]Ia meneruskanBurgred dari Merciayang digulingkan olehVikingpada 874. Masa pemerintahannya umumnya tertanggal 874 sampai 879 berdasarkan pada daftar masa pemerintahan Mercia yang memberikannya masa pemerintahan lima tahun. Namun, D. P. Kirby berpendapat bahwa ia mungkin memerintah paa awal 880an. Pada 883, ia digantikan olehÆthelred, Tuan Mercia,yang menjadi penguasa Mercia dengan dukunganAlfred Agung,raja Wessex.[2][3]
