Il 5 maggio nella puntata specialeDynamite: Blood and Guts,fu annunciato un match traOrange Cassidy(# 1) ePac(# 2), i due lottatori singoli più in alto nel ranking AEW, per l'episodio della settimana successiva diDynamite,il cui vincitore avrebbe ricevuto un match controKenny Omegaper l'AEW World ChampionshipaDouble or Nothing[4].Tuttavia, il match si concluse con un doppio knockout, rendendo così il match diDouble or Nothinguntriple threat match[5].

AFull Gear 2020,MJFsconfisseChris Jerichoe come da stiplulazione lui eWardlow,entrarono nell'Inner Circle(composta dallo stesso Jericho,Sammy Guevara,Jake Hager,Santana & Ortiz)[6].Tuttavia, nell'episodio del 10 marzo 2021 diDynamite,MJF tradì l'Inner Circle e ha rivelò di aver segretamente costruito la suastable,chiamataThe Pinnacle(composto anche daShawn Spears,Wardlow e gliFTR)[7]ABlood and Gutsdel 5 maggio, il Pinnacle batté l'Inner Circle inBlood and Guts match[4],e la settimana successiva, MJF sfidò Jericho ad un Stadium Stampede match tra i due gruppi perDouble or Nothing,con la clausola che se l'Inner Circle avesse perso, sarà costretto a sciogliersi[5].Nella puntata del 19 maggio diDynamite,l'Inner Circle accettò la proposta, rendendo ufficiale il match[8].

Nell'episodio del 7 aprile diDynamite,gliYoung Bucks(Matt e Nick Jackson),AEW World Tag Team Champions,attaccaronoJon MoxleyedEddie Kingstone si allearono con il loro amico di lunga data Kenny Omega, il suo managerDon Callise iGood Brothers(Doc GallowseKarl Anderson)[9].Nell'episodio del 12 maggio diDynamite,gli Young Bucks sfidarono Moxley e Kingston a un match titolato perDouble or Nothing[5].

Nell'episodio del 31 marzo diDynamite,Cody Rhodesfu attaccato dal suo ex amicoQT Marshall,che si alleò con Nick Comoroto, Aaron Solow e il debuttanteAnthony Ogogoe formò una nuova stable chiamata The Factory[10].ABlood and Gutsil 5 maggio, Rhodes batté Marshall, ma al termine del match, Rhodes, fu aggredito da Ogogo e il 12 maggio fu annunciato un match perDouble or Nothing[5].
