Kyimyindaing Township(Burmese:ကြည့်မြင်တိုင် မြို့နယ်,pronounced[tɕḭmjənàiɰ̃mjo̰nɛ̀];alsoKyeemyindaing Township,Kyimyindine,orKyi Myin Dine,and anglicised asKemmendine) is located in the western part ofYangon,and shares borders withKamayut Townshipin the north, theYangon RiverandTwante Townshipin the west,Sanchaung Townshipin the east, andAhlon Townshipin the south. It consists of 21 wards.

Etymology

"Kyimyindaing" derives from theMon languageterm "Kamaingdeung"(Mon:ကၟာၚ်ဍုၚ်;/kəmaiŋdɜŋ/), which means "walled town."[2][3]

Education

The township has 15 primary schools, three middle schools and five high schools,[1]and is home to theSchool for the Blind Kyimyindine.[4]

A population of 111,514 people reside in Kyimyindaing Township with 52.8% being female residents and 47.2% being male residents.[5]
