The folks behind thisParks and Recreationpodcast are extremely enthusiastic about this show. It's not hard to see why.Parks and Recollection's two hosts are the ultimateParks and Recinsiders. Alan Yang was a producer and primary writer for the show's entire seven-season run. And Yang's cohost—well, the bad news is that he wasn't in the cast from the show's very beginning. (He didn't show up until season two's end.) But the good news is that he's the eternally youthful '80s Brat Pack-er Rob Lowe.
Lowe's and Yang'sParks and Recollectionsaren't coming only from memory. They've committed to rewatching the entire series. This allows them to provide a sharper running commentary. The podcast trailer alone proves that. And as one would expect, theParks and Recreationalums have an inside advantage to getting the best guests. In it, listeners hear a preview of Chris Pratt divulging behind-the-scenes production moves. And Ben Schwartz shares how he came close to not playing Jean-Ralphio Saperstein.
Yang's first brush with major TV success wasParks and Recreation, but he's since delivered even more stellar work. In particular, he cocreatedMaster of NonewithParks and Recreation'sAziz Ansari. That show went on to win a Peabody Award. It also made Yang and Ansari the first Asian Americans to win Emmys for comedy series writing.
Rob Lowe...well, he's Rob Lowe! He was inThe Outsiders,Wayne's World,Austin Powers,The West Wing, and so on. And he may have occupied more teenage-girl wall space than any other heartthrob of 1985.
Lowe's and Yang's involvement and all the guests settle the matter:Parks and Recollectionis a fantasticParks and Recreationpodcast.
