The festive event aired on cable's ION Television Network on December 6 at 4:00 p.m. Actor/comedian Elon Gold served as Master of Ceremonies, and the program included remarks from Academy Award-winning actor Jon Voight. In addition to the broadcast on the ION Television Network, the event streamed online at the Governor of California's website, gov.ca.gov. The celebration featured performances by Israel's Jerusalem Children's Choir and the California National Guard's 59th Army Band. Joining by satellite for a simultaneous menorah lighting were U.S. troops at Camp Victory in Iraq and, by video teleconference, members of the 82nd Airborne Division in Afghanistan.Written by
