[editar|editar código-fonte]Filho do veterano da guerra civil general N. Gano Dunn e Amelia Sillick,[5]Gano Dunn nasceu emYorkville (Manhattan).
Em 1891 Dunn recebeu o primeiro grau emengenharia elétricapelaUniversidade Columbia.
Dunn foi presidente doInstituto Americano de Engenheiros Eletricistas,de 1911 a 1912.
