Xi Jinping(pronounced[ɕǐ tɕînpʰǐŋ],born 15 June 1953) is theGeneral Secretary o the Communist Pairty o Cheenae,thePreseso theFowkrepublic o Cheenae,an theChairman o the Central Militar Commission.As General Secretary, he is also anex officio membero theCPC Politburo Staundin Committee,Cheenae'sde factotap decision-makin body.
Son o communist veteranXi Zhongxun,Xi Jinping rose through the ranks poleetically in Cheenae's coastal provinces. He served as the Govrenor oFu gianatween 1999 an 2002, then as Govrenor anCPC pairty chiefo the neighborinZhe gian gatween 2002 an 2007. Followin the dismissal oChen Liangyu,Xi wis transferred taeShanghaias thepairty secretaryfor a brief period in 2007.
