Pod roditeljskim utjecajem, sam David je od tinejdžerskih dana do1975.bio pristašanove ljevice,a potom se okrenuoantikomunizmuikonzervativizmu.Zajedno s dugogodišnjim suradnikomPeterom Collieromnapisao je niz političkih knjiga u kojima se branipolitička desnica.Također, potpisuju i knjige o utjecajnim političkim porodicama Rockefeller, Kennedy, Ford i Roosevelt. Horowitz je kontroverzna ličnost jer je karijeru gradio napadajućiljevičarskeiprogresivističkeuniverzitetskeprofesore,kao imuslimanskeorganizacije.
