Fransis Hari Kompton Krik(engl.Francis Crick;8. jun1916—28. jul2004) je bioengleskimolekularni biolog,biofizičar,ineuro naučnik.Najpoznatiji je po otkriću struktureDNKmolekula1953.zajedno saDžejmsom D. Votsonom.On, Votson iMoris Vilkinssu zajedno nagrađeni1962.Nobelovom nagradom za fiziologiju ili medicinu„za otkrićemolekulske strukturenukleinskih kiselinai njihovog značaja za transfer informacija u živim materijalima “.[1]
Krik je bio važan teoretskimolekularni biologi imao je ključnu ulogu u istraživanjima vezanim za otkrićegenetičkog koda.Poznat je takođe i po upotrebi termina “centralna dogma”kojom se sumira ideja dagenetskeinformacije teku ućelijamaisključivo u jednom pravcu, od DNK doRNKdoproteina.[2]
Bio je profesor naSalk institutu za biološke studijeuLa Džoli,Kalifornija.Njegova kasnija istraživanja odnosila su se na oblast teorijskeneurobiologije.[3]
