Alfred North Whitehead,OM(15 February 1861 – 30 December 1947) was anEnglishmathematicianwho became aphilosopher.He was born inRamsgate,Kent,and died inCambridge, Massachusetts,USA.He wrote onalgebra,logic,foundations of mathematics,philosophy of science,physics,metaphysics,andeducation.He is the co-author, withBertrand Russell,of the importantPrincipia Mathematica.[1]
