Arthur Leonard Schawlow(May 5, 1921 – April 28, 1999) was anAmericanphysicist.He was the co-inventor of thelaserwithCharles Townes.He shared the 1981Nobel Prize in PhysicswithNicolaas BloembergenandKai Siegbahnfor his work using lasers to determineatomic energy levelswith great precision.[1][2]
