Aclownis a kind ofentertainer,orperformance artist,who performs physicalcomedyandstuntsto amuse others. They usually weargrease paintmakeupthat hides their real face, a largewigwith brightly-colored hair, and baggy, paddedclothing.
Many clowns belong to acircus,while othersfreelanceor have atalent agentwho helps them find work. Some clowns study at aclown collegeorclown school,where they learnacrobatics,jugglingand other physical skills, and ways tointeractwith an audience. Others learn from experienced clowns, or through study and practice.
