Cyprinidaeare afamilyoffreshwater fish.[1]They are in the classActinopterygii,and include more than 3000 different species.[1]They have a maximum length of over 2.5 metres (8 feet 2 inches) but most types of cyprinidae are smaller than 5cm (2 inches).[1]
