Esotericismis about secret knowledge for a small group of people.[1]Esotericism also describesmystical,spiritualoroccultpoints of view.[2]Esotericism studiesGnosticism,Yoga,Alchemy,Magic,Spiritualism,Hypnosis,Astrology,Meditation,Mysticism,andOccultism.Many followers of Abrahamic faiths, particularlyChristianityandIslam,have criticized Esotericism asblack magic.Esotericism in religion is called "obscurantism".

Esotericism can also be about understanding symbolism and hidden meanings of many different books. They includereligiousbooks,philosophybooks and books abouthistory.They use these books as theirtexts.[3]
