Governor Generalis a representative of ahead of state.The term is mostly used inCommonwealth realmcountries, where the governor general is a representative of theBritish monarch,who is the head of state of the Commonwealth realm countries.

Sometimes the title is spelled asGovernor General,which is used in Canada,[1]but sometimes it is spelled with a hyphen "-",Governor-General,which is the spelling used in Australia.[2]
