John Joseph Sweeney(May 5, 1934 – February 1, 2021) was an American labor leader. He was president of theAFL-CIOfrom 1995 to 2009.[1][2]He was born inNew York City.
Sweeney died on February 1, 2021 at the age of 86.[3]
