Kristine Marie Lilly Heavey(born July 22, 1971), néeKristine Marie Lilly,is aretiredAmericansoccerplayer. She last playedprofessionallyforBoston BreakersinWomen's Professional Soccer(WPS). She was a member of theUnited States women's national soccer teamfor 24 years. Lilly has won twoWorld Cup Championships.[1]She is twice anOlympicgold medalist(1996 and 2004) and won an Olympicsilver medal(2000).[2]Lilly is the mostcappedsoccer player in the history of the sport. No other women's or men's player has done this. She gained her 352nd and final cap againstMexicoin a World Cup qualifier in November 2010.[3]Lilly scored 130goalsfor theUnited States women's national team.This placed her behindMia Hamm's 158 goals andAbby Wambach's ongoing tally of 182.[4]On Feb. 14, 2015, Kristine Lilly was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame.[3]
