On the Beachis a novel byNevil Shute,[1]a British author who emigrated toAustralia.It was published in 1957. It tells about the world after atomic war. Last people live in Australia and wait for coming of the radioactive cloud. When they start being sick of the radiation, they commit suicide.
A movie based on the book was made in 1959.Gregory PeckandAva Gardnerstarred in it.[2]
