Pamela Ann Melroy(born September 17, 1961) is a retiredUnited States Air Forceofficer and a formerNASAastronaut.She is theDeputy Administrator of NASAsince 2021 during theJoe Bidenadministration. She served as pilot onSpace ShuttlemissionsSTS-92andSTS-112and commanded missionSTS-120before leaving the agency in August 2009.[1]

Melroy will be inducted into theUnited States Astronaut Hall of Fameat theKennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.[2][3]
