Peter Yates(24 July 1929[1]– 9 January 2011) was an Englishmovie directorandproducer.He was born inAldershot,Hampshire.[2]He was nominated for theAcademy Awardfor the moviesBreaking AwayandThe Dresser.He was also nominated several time forBAFTAAwards. One of his best-known movies isBullitt(1968), starringSteve McQueen.[3]Yates died in London on 9 January 2011. He was 81 years old.[1][4]
