Ulrich Beck
Ulrich Beck(15 May 1944 – 1 January 2015) was aGermansociologistandeducator.He made the termrisk societyout ofglobalization.And made studies on democratic andcosmopolitansociety. He was also a professor ofsociologyat theUniversity of Munichand at theLondon School of Economics.
Beck was born in thePomeraniantown of Stolp (nowSłupskinPoland). He got hisPh.D.in 1972. He was married toElisabeth Beck-Gernsheim.
Beck died from aheart attackon 1 January 2015, aged 70.[1]
