Charles Osgood Wood III(January 8, 1933 – January 23, 2024),[1]known professionally asCharles Osgood,was an Americancommentatorand writer. Osgood was born inNew York City.He was best known for being the host ofCBS News Sunday Morningfrom April 10, 1994, until September 25, 2016.[2]He was also the narrator of the 2008 animated movieHorton Hears a Who!.

Osgood died fromdementiaat his home inNew Jerseyon January 23, 2024, two weeks after his 91st birthday.[3]
