Rendell was born inNew York CitytoJewish Americanparents Jesse T. Rendell and Emma Sloat.[1]He went to the University of Pennsylvania in 1961 and received aBachelor of Artsdegree and later got aJuris Doctorfrom Villanova Law School in 1968. He was a2nd Lieutenantin theU.S. Army Reservefrom 1968 to 1974.
