En'ō

En'ō(Duyên ứng)was aJapanese era name(Niên hiệu,,nengō,,lit. "year name" )afterRyakuninand beforeNinji.This period spanned the years from February 1239 to July 1240.[1]The reigning emperor wasShijō-tennō(Bốn điều thiên hoàng).[2]

  • 1239(En'ō 1, 1st month):Kujō Yoshihira(Chín điều lương bình)gave up his office asdaijo daijin;and he retired from court life. He became a Buddhist priest.[3]
  • 28 March 1239(En'ō 1, 22nd day of the 2nd month): FormerEmperor Go-Tobadied at age 60.[4]
