Nur ad-Din Abd ar-Rahman Jami(Persian:نورالدین عبدالرحمن جامی,August 18,1414–November 19,1492), orJami,was aPersianSufipoet. He was born inJam, Persia.He studiedscience,Arabicliterature,natural sciences,IslamicphilosophyandIndianliterature in Herat University. He went toSamarqandand completed his studies there. Jami wrote eighty seven books, inPersianandArabic.Some of his books have been translated to English. His poems are collected in aDivan.
