Lublinis acityin easternPoland.It's in theLublin Voivodeship.It has an area of 147.5km2.About 354,000 people live in Lublin. It is the largest Polish city east of theVistula River.The Bystrzyca river, a tributary of theWieprzriver, passes through the city and divides it into two parts: western, with a more varied relief withloessgorges, and eastern, which is flat. In the southern part of the city there is the artificialZemborzyce Lakecreated bydammingBystrzyca. It is on the route betweenVilniusandKraków.

It was started in the 6thor7thcentury.City wallswere built in the1340s.The LublinParliamentsession of 1569 led to the union between theKingdom of Polandand theGrand Duchy of Lithuaniawhich became thePolish–Lithuanian Commonwealth.It was an important national centre ofArianism.it was ruined in the wars of the 17thcentury.[3]

Lublin Airport(Port Lotniczy Lublin) (IATA: LUZ) is about 10 km (6.2 miles) SE of Lublin. Trains go from Lublin Głównyrailway stationto the major cities in Poland. There are local trains. It is is one of only four towns in Poland to havetrolleybuses.
