Martin Hayter ShortOC(born March 26, 1950) is aCanadianactor,comedian,singerandwriter.He is mostly known for hostingSecond City TelevisionandSaturday Night Live.He won threeEmmy Awardsand aTony Award.More recently, Short is known for his live comedic performance with friend and fellow comedianSteve Martin.

Short was born and raised inHamilton,Ontario,Canada.[1]He was educated at Westdale Secondary School and at McMaster University. He married Nancy Dolman from 1980 to 2010.[2]They had three children. Short lives inPacific Palisades,Los Angeles,CaliforniaandLake Rosseau.
