Robert Comtesse
Robert Comtesse(14 August 1847 – 17 November 1922) was aSwisspolitician. He was born inValangin,Switzerland.
Comtesse was elected to theFederal Council of Switzerlandon 14 December 1899. He retired on 4 March 1912. He was a member of theFree Democratic Party.
During his office time he held the following departments:
- Department of Finance(1900)
- Department of Justice and Police(1901)
- Department of Posts and Railways(1902, 1912)
- Department of Finance(1903, 1905–09, 1911)
- Political Department(1904, 1910)
He wasPresident of the Confederationin 1904 and again in 1910.
Comtesse died on 17 November 1922 inLa Tour-de-Peilz,Switzerland at the age of 75.
