Ruth Gruber(September 30, 1911 – November 17, 2016) was an American journalist, photographer, writer, humanitarian and a former United States government official. She served as a Special Assistant to theSecretary of the InteriorduringWorld War II.She worked for theNew York Postand for theNew York Herald.
Gruber was born in New York City. She studied at theUniversity of Wisconsin–Madison.[1]Gruber died at her home in New York City on November 17, 2016, aged 105.[2]
