TheTahirid dynasty(Persian:سلسله طاهریان) was aArabian[6]Sunni Islamicdynasty that ruled theAbbasidprovince ofKhorasanfrom 821 to 873. It also ruled the city ofBaghdadfrom 820 until 891. The capital in Khorasan was first located atMerv.Later it moved toNishapur.
