The Way I Amwas able to peak at #58 on theBillboardHot 100in the United States.[2]
The song features Eminem being angry at people who he feels are putting too much pressure on him. This includes obsessive fans and record executives. The song contains the lyrics "When a dude's gettin bullied and shoots up his school...", which is a reference to eitherEric HarrisorDylan Klebold,the two students that committed theColumbine High School massacrewhich took place the year before. The song was remixed byDanny LohnerfeaturingMarilyn Manson,who has also performed the song with Eminem live on stage. In 2008, Eminem released an autobiography which was titledThe Way I Am.
