The Content Verification tool is found inYouTube Studio Content Manager.To access it, make sure that you'resigned into your Content Manager account.
The tool allows you to use our enterprise webform, which is similar to our webform forcopyright removal requests,but includes a feature to search public YouTube videos for content that you own the rights to. If you find videos that match your content, you can submit copyright removal requests directly from the enterprise webform.
To search for videos that match your content using the Content Verification tool:
- Sign in toStudio Content Manager.
- From the left menu, selectManual claiming.
- In the filter bar,enter keywords, video IDs or select a filterAPPLY.
- Use the minus symbol ('-') to exclude keywords from your search.
- You can also search by @username or channel ID to find videos from a particular uploader.
- You can select from these filters:
- Allowlisted (whether the video is/isn't on yourallowlist)
- Channel ID
- Claim status (whether it is/isn't claimed by you or others)
- Live stream (whether the video is/isn't a live stream)
- Publishing date
- Reviewed (whether the claim has been reviewed)
- Video length (<4 minutes, 4–20 minutes or >20 minutes)
- (Optional) In the search results list, you can clickSort byto sort the results based onrelevance,published dateortotal views.
Before submitting a removal request, make sure that you understand whatpersonal info becomes part of a copyright removal request.
Submit a removal request
To submit a removal request for one video:
- On theManual claimingpage, click a video's row to expand it.
- Click theTakedowntab at the top of the row.
- ClickSELECT ASSET.
- Using the tabs at the top, you can chooseSelect assetto choose an existing asset orCreate assetto make a new one. Learn how tocreate assets.
- If you're selecting an existing asset, clickSELECT.If you're creating a new asset, clickCREATE.
- In theSignaturebox, enter your first name and surname (not a company name).
- UnderAcknowledgement,read the statement, then click the tick box to acknowledge the statement.
- ClickTAKEDOWN.
Submit multiple removal requests
You may be able to submit copyright removal requests in bulk. To request removals of more than one video associated with a single asset:
- On theManual claimingpage, click the tick boxes next to the videos that you want to submit a removal request for.
- You can select a maximum of 100 videos at once. To do this, at the bottom of the page, make sure thatRows per pageis set to 100, then click the tick box above the search results.
- At the top of the page, clickTAKEDOWN.
- ClickSELECT ASSET.
- Using the tabs at the top, you can chooseSelect assetto choose an existing asset orCreate assetto make a new one. Learn how tocreate assets.
- If you're selecting an existing asset, clickSELECT.If you're creating a new asset, clickCREATE.
- In theSignaturebox, enter your first name and surname (not a company name).
- UnderAcknowledgement,read the statement, then click the tick box to acknowledge the statement.
- ClickSUBMIT.
If a removal request has been resolved and resulted in removal of content, it can be retracted. If a removal request has not been resolved yet (for example, delayed takedowns and takedowns under review), it can be cancelled.
To retract or cancel a copyright removal request that was submitted using the Content Verification tool:
- Sign in toStudio Content Manager.
- From the left menu, selectClaimed videos.
- Find the video from your original removal request.
- To find the video faster, click the filter barClaim statusTakedown,Delayed takedownorTakedown under review.
- Click the video's title.
- In theClaims on videosection, next toTakedown, Delayed takedown or Takedown under review,clickDETAILS.
- For takedowns that have not been resolved yet (delayed takedowns and takedowns under review), clickCANCEL 1 TAKEDOWN.For resolved takedowns, clickRETRACT 1 TAKEDOWN.
