Stanley L. Jaki

Stanley L. Jaki,född17 augusti 1924iGyőr,Ungern,död7 april 2009iMadrid,Spanien,var en ungersk-amerikanskfysiker,teologochvetenskapshistoriker.Jaki var ävenromersk-katolsk prästoch medlem avbenediktinorden.Många av hans arbeten behandlar förhållandet mellan vetenskap och religion.^[1]

Jaki inträdde i benediktinorden 1942 ochprästvigdes1948. År 1950 avlade handoktorsexameni teologi vid detpåvliga institutet Sant' AnselmoiRom.Han flyttade därefter tillUSAoch undervisade vid ettprästseminariumiPennsylvania.Efter en operation där hanstonsillertogs bort tappade han rösten och det dröjde flera år innan han återfick talförmågan. Han tvingades därför att sluta undervisa och började istället studerafysikvidFordham University.1957 blev han doktor i fysik. Han fick anställning vidSeton Hall University1965, där han 1975 utnämndes tillprofessori fysik.^[1]
