Falsafa ya Kiafrikainaweza kumaanishafalsafayawasomiWaafrika,au falsafa inayopendekeza mtazamo wa Waafrika, au falsafa inayotumia mbinu maalumu za Kiafrika.[1][2]

Kabla yaUzodinma Nwalakuanza kufundisha somo hilo, hakukuwa nachuo kikuuchochote kilicholifundisha.[3]

Falsafa ya Kiafrika inaweza kufafanuliwa kamahojaza Waafrika juu yamang'amuziyamaishayao.[4]

Hiyo ilikuwepo hata kabla yaukoloniuliowakutanisha nafalsafa ya Magharibi.[5]

HasaMisri ya Kaleiliwahi sana kuwa na falsafa yenye utajiri wa mawazo, halafu ikachangiafalsafa ya Kigirikinafalsafa ya Kikristo.
