TheAnimatedAutotrooper is aredecoand new-headretoolingof theCybertronian Mode Ratchet/Ironhidemold, transforming into a futuristic quad-track van-like thing. They come with two "shock paddle" accessories which peg over their fists, and the right fist punches forward when a tab on the elbow is pushed in. These "shock paddles" plug into the rear of the vehicle mode. The toy also has a socket on the left forearm to accommodate DeluxeLockdown's EMP weapon, just like the previous Deluxe mold. However, how well that accessory actuallyfitsin the socket seems to vary wildly from sample to sample.

The Autotrooper was only available in a pack of three, an at-show "souvenir" set available atBotCon 2011.The toy also comes with a "Generation 1" -styleTech Specs-stylebio,written byJim Sorenson.

This mold, with this headsculpt, was also used to make the BotCon 2011 attendee exclusiveFisitron.

A new-headretoolof theWar for Cybertron: SiegeDeluxe ClassIronhidefigure, "Animated Universe Autotrooper" transforms from robot to Cybertronian van and back. Autotrooper includes a redeco of Ironhide's "W-35 LR Doomblast Forge Launcher," which isC.O.M.B.A.T. System-compatible and can convert into a large hammer. There are multiple hardpoints on the figure and their weapons to accommodateFire Blast effectparts, which can be used to simulate blaster fire or explosions. Most intriguingly, however, Autotrooper also includes an alternate head based on the originalKiss PlayersAutorooperdesign, intended to be used with a second copy of the figure fortroop-building.Neat?

Notably, the Autotrooper's head(s) utilize new technology developed byTakaraTomydesignerShogo Hasuiwherein the two head designs slide onto a single "skull" via a rail system rather than brute forcing the neckball jointas in past releases.^[1]

The flaw withSiegeIronhide's leg panel hinges has been fixed on Autotrooper, meaning they do not pop off at the slightest pressure.

Autotrooper is one of four figures included in the Troop Builder Multipack, the others beingDecepticon Seeker,Quintesson Trooper,andG2 Universe Cybertronian Trooper.
