Daniel Warren Johnson(bornMarch 23,1987) is an American comic book writer and artist based inChicago,Illinois.After breaking onto the scene with his self-published webcomicSpace Mullet,Johnson gained wider notoriety with his2017seriesExtremity,which also marked the beginning of his collaboration with frequent coloristMike SpicerandSkybound Entertainment,both of whom he would continue working with for his subsequent seriesMurder Falconand the Eisner Award-winningDo A Powerbomb.He has also worked on such titles asBeta Ray BillforMarvel ComicsandWonder Woman: Dead EarthandJurassic League(with Juan Gedeon) forDC Comics.

In 2023, Johnson and Spicer returned to Skybound to helm the newTransformersseriesas part of theirEnergon Universe.OnJuly 26,2024,Johnson won two Eisner Awards (Best Writer/Artist and Best Continuing Series) for his work onTransformers,becoming the first author to receive this recognition for his involvement in the franchise.
