In many ways,Dead End(デッドエンドDeddo Endo) is the idealPredaconsoldier. Content in his rank amongst the troops on the frontline, he never makes any trouble for his superior officers nor partakes in any schemes for advancement. True to his solitary temperament, he dislikes working with others in operations. See, he prefers to express his cruelty unencumbered by throwing hisMaximalenemies off balance with his Spiral Bomb, launching the shell half off his shoulder, and cackling as he finishes them off with his Dead Gun.

Dead End was among the Predacons stationed onGaia,along with his commanderMagmatron.When they noticed five newMaximalrecruits landing on the planet's surface, he was ordered, along with the others, to deal with them. They immediately began to fire on the inbound Maximals, destroying their transport vessels and sending them crashing down. He then rendezvoused with the other Predacons, surrounding their hostage,Stampy.When the Maximals tried to rescue their teammate, Dead End, along with his teammates, confronted them, but were suddenly frozen in place byHeinrad’s freezing of time. Held still for long enough for Heinrad to take back Stampy, once things returned to normal, he was left stunned by the events that had just unfolded. Once Magmatron andBig Convoybegan to duke it out,Guiledarttook precautionary measures and demanded thatDNAVIteleport them back to HQ before things got messy, taking all Predacons away from combat. Dead End, along with the other Predacons, was lectured by DNAVI for their failure in combat.Big Convoy, Move Out
Dead End was with the other Predacons when they listened toSaberback,via transmission, describe his “magical” powers that he had used to disable the Maximals. WhileSlingfell for it, the others didn't, leading Saberback to admit that it had indeed beenAngolmois Energythat created the illusion that threw the Maximals off course. Later on, when Saberback phoned in for reinforcements against Longrack and Colada, Dead End answered the call, along with Sling and Guiledart. When Guiledart and Saberback began bickering, Sling suggested just fighting already, which Dead End agreed with, stating that combat was his specialty. The Predacons were defeated, however, upon the arrival of Big Convoy and the other Maximal recruits, and had to be teleported back to their ship by DNAVI.Chase the Mysterious Capsule
Dead End was with the other Predacons on theDinosaur,and was averse to traveling toSolidand retrieving the Angolmois capsule there, thinking that pursuing the Maximals in such a way wasn't honorable. Guiledart told him to shut up, and do the job anyway. Once on the planet, while Sling and Saberback attacked the main group of Maximals, Dead End pursuedBreakand the alienGōmyain an effort to take the Angolmois capsule that was attached to the unwitting native. Dead End exclaimed that he loved to hunt, and fired his Dead Gun and Spiral Bombs at the pair from his vantage point in the mountains, accidentally breaking the ice lake underneath them. He feared that while the Maximal and alien drowned, the Angolmois may be damaged with them, and with the prompting of Sling and Saberback, he transformed into ammonite mode to retrieve it. He managed to fight off Break and seize the Angolmois, but as he tried to fly back to theDinosaur,he was blasted by Big Convoy and sent running with his tail between his legs.Burning Heart Below Freezing
Dead End participated in Guiledart's plan to attack the Maximals onMaderan,so that they could have more time to search for the Angolmois on the planet at their own pace. He was in a group with Saberback, tasked with trapping and bringing down Colada and Heinrad. They succeeded, and Dead End flagellated Colada while the snake 'bot was too stunned to fight back. Stampy then freed the prisoners, but they were quickly recaptured by Magmatron. When Big Convoy showed up to free the Maximals, the Predacons called for an immediate retreat, with Dead End and the others being teleported back to theDinosaurby DNAVI.Hang in There, Stampy
Dead End shifted responsibility of going to the sandy planet ofDonovanto Sling, and promised the dimetrodon 'bot that if he was in trouble, he'd beam down to save him. Later on, he had to do exactly that, but with Sling confused by all of the mirages appearing on the planet, he tried to attack Dead End. After Sling became preoccupied with lunging after illusory Angolmois capsules, Dead End tried to locate the real one, but became afflicted by the apparitions himself. He began to see Big Convoy, whom he craved a duel with, and started to shoot all around him, hoping that one of the mirages was real. Later on he had the opportunity to fight the real Big Convoy when the Maximals and Predacons had a brawl, but he was unceremoniously beaten by the legendary warrior.Mirage of the Sand

Once, Dead End was as sullen and fatalistic as hisnamesake.It was only whenMagmatronrecruited him into the Predacons' rigorous military training that he found his true calling as a soldier. The female Dead-End was a junior engineer working under ChiefMagmatronon board theDinosaur.Prickly and anti-social, Dead-End intentionally had few friends among the crew, despite attempts byHydraand others to include her. Still, she was very attached to her pet Sharkticon,Gnaw,who she secretly picked up during shore leave onArkusand kept in the ship's cooling systems.
During a mission over the planetLGC-8803,theDinosaurcame under attack from outside parties while an away team was on the planet below. Dead-End worked to assist Magmatron in repairing the massive damage the ship took. After returning from repair work in the pipes, however, she learned from Magmatron that the crew faced a different threat. The proto-formers had begun an insurrection against the Builders back home, and their Micromaster political officerSynapsehad killed Hydra andKiller Punchto keep the secret. Dead-End and Magmatron agreed that mutiny was their only option. While Magmatron attempted to gather the rest of the crew to their side, Dead-End was assaulted by Synapse and thenMedusa,one of theirDestructonattackers who slipped aboard during the attack. Medusa drove off Synapse but then caused more damage to the ship's engines, making a planet-crash all but inevitable.
Meanwhile, Magmatron had learned theDinosaurwas actually the old Decepticon war criminal Trypticon, and was actively working against them and the captain,Full-Tilt.While the chief tried to stabilize the ship, Dead-End tried to infiltrate the computer core and shut down Trypticon's higher reasoning to reclaim control of the vessel. Trypticon defended himself with internal defenses and his Brunt drone, but Dead-End had the advantage of surprise when she sicc'ed Gnaw on the tank. Dead-End was able to breach Trypticon's brain and shut him down.
The ship was unable to remain in the air, but Full-Tilt managed to guide it down to LGC-8803 and unfold it into a new colony, Dinosaur City. Dead-End and Gnaw chose to remain behind on Dinosaur City with other members of the crew and related associates while Magmatron took others back to join the uprising.Intersectionality

- Part of the first wave ofBeast Wars Neoproducts in Takara'sBeast Warstoyline, Dead End is a Basic-sized figure that transforms into anammonite.Inbeast mode,Dead End's "head" can articulate, and he can launch his spring-loaded "Spiral Bomb" projectile (the right half of his shell).
- Inrobot mode,his main grasper tentacles separate to form his hand-held, non-firing "Dead Gun".His Spiral Bomb ends up located on his right shoulder and can also be launched in this mode. The launcher itself also houses hisPredaconspark crystal.His Spiral Bomb can also double as a hoverboard, though there are no tabs or slots to hold the figure onto the shell piece, as this was a feature that was invented entirely by the animators for the cartoon and was merely an afterthought. Still, you can do that if you wanna, we can't stop you.
- Dead End is considered one of the most notoriousshellformers,as the overwhelming majority of hisbeast modeis made up of the two removable shell-halves on his shoulders, and without them, he can no longer function as a Transformer. Also, his robot bits need to be lined up very carefully in specific and unintuitive configurations for the shell to close shut properly, but said bits lack any form of securing tabs/posts/slots and basically it's a big mess.
