Earl Kress

Earl Kress(August 22,1951–September 19,2011) was an American writer. In addition toThe Transformers,he also wrote episodes ofAnimaniacs,Pinky and the Brain(both of which netted him a Daytime Emmy),Road Rovers,andKim Possible.He was also one of the scriptwriters onThe Fox and the Hound.
In 2011, Kress passed away at age 60 after a battle with cancer. His final works were the animated filmsTom & Jerry Meet Sherlock Holmes,released in 2010, andTom & Jerry in the Wonderful World of Oz,which was released shortly before his death.

- In the Rhino interview, he states his favorite characters were Bumblebee (mainly because of his friendship with Spike) and Starscream (for him, he was the most fun to beat up).
