Millions of years ago, the earliest Elonians were simple hunter-gatherers. One such hunter watched as theTitanEmissarycrash-landed in theThrail Mountains.The First Who Was NamedOver the millennia, the Elonians developed various civilizations, unified under a planetary government, and eventually formed theSolstar Orderto defend themselves from the ferociousDire Wraiths,Shining Armor #3utilizing amysterious oremined on Elonia to develop symbiotic suits of crystalline armor.Cold Fire
In 2018, Elonia was invaded byUnicron,who sought to destroy the planet and absorb this same ore into his being.Optimus Primeand his allies joined the Space Knights as they attempted to evacuate Elonia. Though Unicron easily destroyed the planet, the Cybertronians were able to usespace bridgetechnology to safely teleport two thirds of Elonia's population toCybertron.Our DarkestCybertron itself was then destroyed by Unicron, but thanks to theSpectral Knights,what remained of the Elonian species was safely teleported toEarthwith the other survivors.Road's End
Optimus Primewas able to foil Unicron's attack on Earth, and, with the monster vanquished, the Elonians settled into a new life on the planet alongside the other alien refugees.Post

- Rom'sHasbro Heroes Sourcebookprofile mentions that he was raised by his "mothers"; it's unclear if some Elonians practice same-sex relationships or if this is a quirk of Elonian reproductive biology.
- In the originalROMfranchise, Rom's species was theGaladorians.This was changed for IDW continuity as the Galadorians are owned byMarvel.
