Dwelling in the depths of space,Energon eatersfeed off theenergonfrom the ships they manage to catch. They hunt largely by scent, being able to smell flowing energon. They can also channel energon out through their tails, the more wily of them using the ability to repower ship computers so that other ships are drawn in by their distress calls.

Rescue Botscartoon

TheSigmaand its crew ofRescue Botsfollowed a distress call to a damaged ship, only to be confronted by an Energon eater.Heatwave,Blades,andBoulderheaded back towards the ship, but were cut off by the creature untilChaserammed it using the ship. With everyone back on board, they realized that the Energon eater would continue hunting them, so they put themselves in stasis and shut down the ship to eliminate the energy signature, and the beast left them alone.

Some time later, after the Rescue Bots had made a home onEarth,Chase had the urge to again try to aid the stricken ship. He and Boulder took theSigmaback to the scene, only to find that the Energon eater had been powering the derelict's computer to make it produce a distress signal. The pair managed to evade the beast, but it drained theSigma's power core, leaving the ship dead. Chase and Boulder were forced to trap the Energon eater and use power from it to reenergize the ship. They took the creature, dubbed "Sparky" by Chase, back to Earth and presented it toOptimus Prime.Unfinished Business

A small energon eater encapsulated in a metal shell was struck by a spaceship piloted byBumblebee.He crashed onEarth,and after Boulder extracted the shell from the stricken ship, the energon eater emerged and headed into theRescue Bot Training Center's network of air ducts, which it proceeded to use to attack the Rescue Bots and drain their energon. Though it managed to put Heatwave, Chase and Boulder into stasis lock, Bumblebee and Blades lured it to the spaceship where they sprung a trap. The creature was put into a stasis pod and Bumblebee took it with him when he left.Uninvited Guest
