Known to theAlternityasFlatworld(フラットワールドFurattowārudo), there exists a two-dimensional universe. This universe's natives, thePlanicrons,have reached a level of technological sophistication that has caused them to venture into three-dimensional universes, with often disastrous results.

In their first known incursion into three-dimensional universes, the Planicrons extruded themselves intouniversal streamPrimax 905.0 Betavia a device they had managed to secret into an art museum. Unfortunately their incursion disrupted the operation of written language itself in that universe, and attracted the attention of both the Alternity and theMegatron Aggregate,causing a conflict which destroyed the device and denied them entry to that universe. Thus defeated, they were confined to Flatworld once more.The World Is Flat!
