TheForge of Solus Prime(akaStaff of Solus) is the symbol of office ofthe master-artificerof theThirteen.It is not actually a forge in the classic sense, but rather ahammerthe size of which suggests that Solus Prime and her brothers towered over modernCybertronians.
Utilizing the power of a miniature neutron star at its very heart,[1]the Forge operates through the convergence ofmagicand science.[2]It is not known just how powerful the Forge is,[1]but it is believed that it can be used to make anything out of anything,[3]with the possibilities only being limited by the skill and knowledge of thePrimewielding it.[4]The Forge was used to craft many of the other artifacts of the Thirteen, and is noted to be one of the few things that could craft the core components of a Cybertronian body from scratch. On its own, the Forge is a capable tool, but only Solus Prime's integratedCreation Latheallowed the Forge to reach its full potential and create weapons and artifacts of supernatural power.[5]On the bright side, its sheer mass can certainly be used to pack aslagging hugewhallop that's second only to theStar Saber.[1]The thing is so heavy that only a select few have the strength to carry it without any difficulty.

Solus used the Forge over many days and nights, crafting otherartifactssuch as theCyber CaliberandDark Energon Skins.Eventually, the Forge was taken into battle againstUnicron.When Solus' body was discovered after being killed byMegatronus,the Forge could be seen lying on the ground near her hand. After Optimus got hold of theStar Saber,Megatron sought a means to counter the powerful weapon. AfterDreadwingreminded him of the Forge in their possession, Megatron's response was that the hammer would only work in "the hand of a Prime", giving him an idea. Returning toCybertron,Megatron stole the arm of adeceased Primeand had it grafted to himself, the borrowed limb allowing him to use the Forge. Megatron then used the Forge to create theDark Star Saberfrom a piece ofDark Energon,the new sword proving able to shatter its inspiration.Alpha/Omega
After learning what fate had befallen his brother, Dreadwing took the Forge and presented it back to the Autobots to spite Megatron. Optimus was able to use it to turn the GroundBridge into a fully-fledged Space Bridge, and to reforge the Star Saber.RegenerationThe Forge was still present in the Autobot base when it was later destroyed by theNemesis.Darkest Hour
The Forge was pulled from the base's remains by the Decepticons,Darkmount, NVand stored aboard theNemesis.Hoping to repair the destroyedOmega Lock,the fatally damaged Optimus sentSmokescreento retrieve it with thephase shifter.Once Smokescreen returned with the hammer, Optimus explained both his intentions for it and the hammer's decreasing power, nominating Smokescreen as his successor.PreyAfter Optimus passed from his wounds, Smokescreen went against his leader's wishes, placing the Forge into Optimus's hand and restoring Optimus to life with a new body. The action resulted in the Forge's power being drained completely. Smokescreen brought the Forge with him toHangar E,confirming toRatchetthat it had been drained of power, only for the medic to praise the youth's actions.Rebellion
The Forge was still useful as a weapon, andUltra Magnustook it with him toScotlandto investigate Decepticon activity.Project PredaconUltra Magnus put the hammer to good use, pounding Vehicons into walls and even landing a few good hits onPredaking.Chain of CommandMagnus again employed the Forge in battle against Predaking after destroying the Predacon cloning lab. Notes
- Stars are capable of forging any raw element (up to iron; anything heavier requires a supernova) under the right conditions, so it's fitting that the star-powered Forge of Solus Prime can forge anythingfromraw elements under the right conditions (Primehood).
