One of the earliest recruits to the brutal Autobot strike team that would soon be known as theWreckers,Impactor was present forOrion Pax's initial presentation of the team to future commanderUltra Magnus,though his tenure would prove quite short-lived.

Soon after Ultra Magnus's promotion, the team encountered SenatorShockwave,and decided to chase away reportersLaserbeakandFlashboxwho had been hounding him. Impactor stood by at first as Shockwave tore into his leader, but decided things had gone too far when Shockwave turned on the rest of them and insultingly referred to the team as a band of rabidDeathEagles.He charged forward and roughly grabbed Shockwave, threatening him and trying to tell Magnus to make the Senator stand down. This rash course of action, along with a final barb from teammateKup,caused Ultra Magnus to snap. He picked Kup off the ground and hurled him at Impactor, merely dazing the former but leaving the latter with severe upper body damage, including both of his optics being displaced from their proper positions. After Shockwave stormed off and Ultra Magnus calmed enough to answerWheeljack's question regarding Impactor, the Wrecker leader chose to abandon the damaged Autobot and removed him from the team roster.

When later questioned about this decision by Orion Pax, Ultra Magnus justified his decision in part by bringing up multiple prior offences by Impactor of this very nature.Shattered Glass II #1

• Impactor's body is modeled on theSiegeDeluxe ClassImpactorfigure, with an inverted color scheme. Incidentally, it does bear some resemblance to theGeneration 2color scheme of his positive universe buddyMegatron.
