Last Christmas I go to see some Christmas movie—me, my girlfriend and some of her family members—and we see a Transformers trailer, and at the end of it, as it’s dying down, it’s quiet in the theater, and I go, "ThanksMichael Bay,you just ruined f***ing Christmas! "And the whole place exploded in laughter. Which is great, right? This was in L.A. at the Cinerama Dome or whatever. Literally three weeks later, I get a call saying," Yeah, John, Michael Bay needs to see you in Santa Monica. "So it turns out that I totally **** on the movie, and three weeks later I end up in it.

Notes

  • He does ameanScatman Crothersimpression.
  • In alternate versions ofThe Last Knight,Steven Barroriginally recorded dialogue for Nitro Zeus in the "Pre-Release" version of the film, while for the "finished" version, Nitro Zeus was re-recorded by DiMaggio himself. A good amount of lines of dialogue were also changed. Some examples include:
    • During his introduction, the finished version has him say: "I know where you live, Enrique, say hello to your wife for me!" while the other, he says: "By the way, Enrique, Chad's sleeping with your wife!"
    • When the Decepticons arrive in the abandoned town, Barr's Nitro says: "I know they're close!" while DiMaggio's Nitro says: "Oh, I feel a fight comin'!"
  • A deleted scene forRise of the Beastshad DiMaggio voicing Transit at the start of the film, but was then omitted in the final cut due to negative feedback from test audiences for its dark tone. Despite the character being removed, DiMaggio retains the Transit credit at the end.
