AfterOptimus Prime's team decided to enlist the aid of the civilian Cybertrons on Earth in their search for theOmega Lock, they distributed an image of theAtlantis Patternamong them. Joyride recognized the image, having seen it engraved in a rock face. She was on her way to report this to the Autobots when she was spotted and attacked byThundercracker. This attack was observed byPhreaker, who radioed Autobot headquarters for help.
Optimus Prime led the group of Autobots who responded and drove the attackingDecepticonoff, as Joyride's damage was repaired byCoby. She then led them to the rockface bearing the Atlantis Pattern. Although it turned out to be a copy rather than the location of the Omega Lock itself, it did contain the coordinates of theJungle Planet.Search

Some time before the appearance of theUnicron Singularity,Joyride metDownshiftand fell in love with him. The two joined together under theCovenant of Primusand were looking forward to spending their honeymoon in theCrystal Citieswhen orders came to haveCybertronevacuated. She and Downshift became separated and so ended up onEarthwith no clue where to look for their significant other.
Eventually, they found each other through luck and persistence and were given orders byOptimus Primeto begin their adaption to life on Earth in a small town south of Providence,Rhode Island. This was such a good experience for Joyride and Downshift that after the threat of the Unicron Singularity had ended, they chose to stay on Earth as envoys of Cybertron.Downshift's Cyber Key Code text
Notes
- Like pretty much all butone of the refugees, she is never seen inrobot mode, only her alternate mode.
- In the originalGalaxy Forceversion, she was depicted as a male character.
- As seen in the episode "Family", sometimes there are two of her.
- When theLugnutzredecoHightailwas revealed, many fans felt that it was going to be the toy version of the motorcycle refugee, what with being an Autobot cycle with vaguely the same color scheme. So much for that (it is possible it could be the second motorcycle mentioned above, but there is no firm evidence to confirm or debunk this).
- The motorcycle refugee and "Downshift's lifebond partner" were retroactively established to be the same character and given a name by the Facebook edition ofAsk Vector Prime.
