Nelson Shin

Nelson Shin(신능균 thân nại thuấn; born1939inPyongsan,Hwanghae,Korea) is a Korean animator and animation director. He was the producer of the originalTransformerscartoonand the director ofThe Transformers: The Movie,and is the founder and owner of theSouth Koreananimation studioAKOM.It might not be a coincidence that animation duties of the cartoon were shifted more and more fromToeito AKOM as the series progressed.

He also designed and animated thelightsabervisual effects in the originalStar Warsfilm.

Shin recorded a DVD commentary for the 2006 release ofThe Transformers: The MoviebySony,alongsideSusan BluandFlint Dille.Among other things, Shin pointed out that the production staff listed in the end credits include Yung Shin, his wife.
