- Skybound was announced in late 2021 to be in negotiations for Hasbro comic licenses[1]ahead of previous licenseeIDW Publishingconfirming in early 2022 that their license was ending.[2]Their acquisition of the license was eventually confirmed onJune 10,2023, thanks to a promotional artwork poster posted from a comic shop to Tumblr,[3]shortly beforeVoid Rivals#1 went on sale onJune 14,2023.
- AtSan Diego Comic-Con2023, Kirkman stated that Skybound eventually plans to reprint material from previous publishers such asMarvel Comicsand IDW.
