TV TOKYO Corporation( chu thức hội xã テレビ đông kinhKabushiki Gaisha Terebi Tōkyō), one ofTokyo's smallest TV stations that began airing onApril 12,1964,is headquartered in Minato, Tokyo,Japan,and they mostly specialize in anime. Some of the popular anime titles includeNeon Genesis Evangelion,Yu-Gi-Oh!,Revolutionary Girl Utena,Noir,andAzumanga Daioh.
They also frequently air dubbed foreign animation (a practice most Japanese broadcast networks refuse). Over the years, TV Tokyo has broadcast shows such asReboot,Saban'sX-Men,My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magicand the 1987, 2003 and 2012 incarnations ofTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
FromOctober 1,1997toDecember 27,2000,aTransformersprogram aired in TV Tokyo's Wednesday, 6:30pm timeslot without losing the spot to another program. The streak was eventually broken byThe Powerpuff Girls.
